A Fresh Take on a Kitchen and Laundry Room
We are firm believers in the fact that great design doesn’t have to break the bank. In this project, we helped our clients reimagine a cramped, inefficient layout into a functional, stylish space, all while prioritizing smart, cost-effective solutions. Here’s how we delivered a kitchen and laundry room that works as hard as our clients do.
Making the Most of a Limited Space
The original kitchen was tucked into the space now destined for the new laundry room, while the future kitchen spot was a blank canvas that wasn’t quite ready for its prime. Our client dreamed of a bigger, better kitchen, a dedicated laundry space, and a fully finished powder room, all without stretching the budget too far.
Relocating and Upgrading Strategically
The unfinished room is now home to the new kitchen, creating a spacious, purpose-built cooking area. The former kitchen is now a roomy laundry room, and the rough-in powder room boasts space-saving fixtures. To keep costs down, we used an economical cabinet line, stock stone countertops, and butcher block accents for warmth. Our team added tile-look LVT flooring to provide durability and style without the expense of traditional tile while repurposing existing appliances to minimize waste.
Details Make All the Difference
We chose every detail with the goal to balance affordability and aesthetics. White cabinets brightened the kitchen, paired with black granite countertops for contrast and elegance. A blue backsplash harmonized with the stone-look LVT flooring, creating a cohesive flow. Black hardware added modern sophistication, while butcher block countertops in secondary areas offered rustic charm without compromising the budget.
The powder room posed a unique challenge: its compact size required a smaller sink and toilet to meet building codes. We opted for black fixtures to mirror the kitchen’s sleek finishes, ensuring design consistency throughout the home.
Bringing the Best of Both Worlds
By carefully balancing preservation with updates, we created a bathroom that feels both fresh and timeless, proving that sometimes the best path forward is one that respectfully acknowledges the past.
A Home That Looks and Works Smarter
The new kitchen offers ample storage and prep space, the laundry room simplifies daily chores, and the powder room adds convenience without sacrificing style. By rethinking the layout and prioritizing cost-effective materials, we turned an awkward, unfinished space into an inviting area of the house that meets both the client’s practical and aesthetic needs!
